Do anybody else feel like Telephone shouldn't have released as single from TFM, there are so many other better songs in TFM
Hmm. I think there are stronger songs, like I would have loved Monster to have been a single.
But I'm glad Telephone was a single and become a good hit for her. I think at the time it seemed logical with Beyoncé being on the track. If it was just a solo track, I do question if they'd have made it into a single.
I noticed my daughter was a bit off in the afternoon, I thought cause it was the time of the month so I told her we'd go to the store to get some comfort food. In the car she asks first "mom when you were my age did you also" and then stopped so I asked her what it was she wants to know and then started crying.
She apologized for crying cause she didn't even know why she had to but she's been talking to this girl online for some time and she said she's in love with her.
I asked her if that was a problem to anyone cause that it didn't seem like an issue to me and I told her that she knows by now that I have no problems with her either getting a boyfriend or girlfriend. She just nodded at that point. I asked her if she talked with the other girl about it and she just said that the other girl loved her like a sister. I questioned her if she loves her like that too or if she would want to be with her and she confirmed she would like to be with her and I told her that if she feels that way, it's ok and she should not worry.
She was feeling better now and said she was relieved to talk with me about it and we hugged and that was it.
So you know she's not even 13 yet and I really do have no problem with her being in love with a girl but I just wondered, should I have said something different or ask her something that I just have no idea about at this point?
It seems like you did the right thing to me, reassuring her that you're ok with her being with a girl, it's good for her to know that her mum is accepting, it takes a lot of stress and anxiety away.
Also (I'm sure you already know this and will) ask her if there's anyway to make sure this girl is really who she says she is and (I'm sure you will) warn her that she shouldn't meet anyone from online by herself, as you never know who the other person really is, especially with a girl as young as 12. Maybe if she wanted to hang out with the girl suggest they meet in a public place (a mall or something) and you possibly go there with her and monitor them (from a distance) and see if its really the girl who shows up and not a random man or woman who could possibly have other motives.

What you did and said was exactly what she needs to hear, because if you tell her otherwise, she might think that she's wrong, what she's doing is wrong or what she feels is wrong and that might cause bigger problems to her and cause problem with your mother-daughter relationship. What I find interesting here is that she can be open to you and that means a lot since some kids/teenagers might just consider to keep those kind of things to themselves and become a problem as they grow up, and also that action of your daughter shows you're a great parent to her.
