Glory already won last year sis. It was also performed but later overshadowed by the Queen of Pop

I hope she wins at least 2/4.
But 3 is good too.
4 is even better.
4 with an Oscars performance is the best thing ever.

Put your hands on my waist, pull the fader
Run it back with original flavor
Queue me up, I'm the twelve on your table
I'm so starstruck

Yep, TIHTY doesn't have a chance
Like it's so ****ing obvious that they will give the award to SYA. I can already imagine the performance with Charlie Puth crying, Paul Walker's pictures showing on a screen, everyone in the audience crying
|
I think they will take this one, simply cause you cannot beat a song about someone that just died. It is what it is. Emotional votes, applies to TIHTY as well I guess but you can't beat a dead guy.

Like I want Gaga to go in the NuDisco/Punk-Pop route that she's been teasing, but at the same time I want some ballads (better than TIHTY, ofc ) to showcase her improved vocals. How can she serve both without having a messy tracklist?

Don't count Gaga out, though.
2000 - Things Have Changed (Wonder Boys)
2001 - If I Didn't Have You (Monsters Inc)
2002 - Lose Yourself (8 Mile)
2003 - Into the West (Lord of the Rings)
2004 - Al otro lado del rio (The Motorcycle Diaries)
2005 - It's Hard out Here for a Pimp (Hustle & Flow)
2006 - I Need to Wake Up (An Inconvenient Truth)
2007 - Falling Slowly (Once)
2008 - Jai Ho (Slumdog Millionaire)
2009 - The Weary Kind (Crazy Heart)
2010 - We Belong Together (Toy Story 3)
2011 - Man or Muppet (The Muppets)
2012 - Skyfall (Skyfall)
2013 - Let It Go (Frozen)
2014 - Glory (Selma)
Essentially,
Causes: Glory, I Need to Wake Up
Kids: Let It Go, We Belong Together, If I Didn't Have You, Man or Muppet
Acclaimed film: Skyfall, Jai Ho, Things Have Changed, Lose Yourself, Into The West, Falling Slowly, The Weary Kind, Al ortro lado del rio, It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp.
See You Again doesn't fit into what they award. They have a strong case because of Paul's untimely death, but they'll have to compete against it being a pop song from a trashy film...and the reality that Paul wasn't an acclaimed actor.
TIHTY may not take it, but it's going to be very hard for them to ignore an acclaimed anthem for rape victims from an acclaimed documentary by an acclaimed songwriter and now-acclaimed singer who impressed the Academy with her much publicised performance. Plus, it's a Weinstein-backed campaign.

Oop, clock me. In that case, I think she has a good shot at the Oscars. Grammys may turn out differently, but she already has six of them, so.

If the Weinstein Brothers are backing her, that enormously increases her chances.

GaGa should not win that Oscar. Not only because she doesn't deserve it (the song is rather weak), but also because we don't want her to think that the song is anything special. The sooner she dumps Diane (who hasn't written a decent song since God knows when), the better.

I agree that Diane hasn't been producing her best work lately, but TIHTY is a good song. It's well-written and addresses questions and concerns that have long been ignored.

i like the idea of TIHTY but i can't stand her vocals on it tbh. i kind of want Gaga to win just bc it's her but idt the song deserves it really. Diane better stay far away from the album

TIHTY is...fine.
I think a lot is forgiven through borrowed substance. I suspect it'd be better if Gaga had written it (solo or with Diane) from the start, but the nature of the subject material and the stage which she entered into it probably made it awkward to do much other than change lyrics and the odd melody.
