I'm a big fan of "Break Up In A Small Town," but I also like all of his songs I've heard so far from
Montevallo (a city 30 minutes south of Birmingham, AL, the metropolitan area where I was raised), containing The University of Montevallo, which is where my Mom graduated from in 1970 prior to going to Law School, I think Hunt, who went to UAB (where I earned by B.A. quite a while back) had a girlfriend from there and I think also went to school there. I'm not even 100% sure I know what a "stan" or "stanning" is lol. So I would say Hunt's music, album title, and alma mater are what got my attention. I could care less about how he or the majority of any other singers look.
Too many of the "Pop Girls" are too thin (Taylor Swift for example, though she's a talented singer, songwriter, and musician with some really good songs), and I like Adele (who obviously isn't too thin) who has an amazing voice, a great songwriter, and is a musician (she played the drums on "Hello"). I didn't like Lady Antebellum any less when Hillary Scott gained a bunch of weight (though I felt bad for her, as she got a lot of heat because of it). Most guys I know, like me, think a size six to eight woman with some curves, looks better than a 00, 0 or two (I worked at Brooks Brothers, so that's how I learned about sizes).
Also, I guess since in Active Rock (my favorite format) the only singers/musicians who stand out are the handful of hot women either in bands or leading the bands (females at the format are very few and far between). Maybe I like Carrie Underwood's music more because she is very attractive (she's in great shape and not overly thin), but I also like who she is and what she stand for on top of all of that. Carrie's a Christian that walks the walk -- not just talking the talk. I wish she could crossover some again, especially since "Before He Cheats" could do so in it's original Country form without a remix. "Blown Away" should've been a huge song across so many formats. Since I listen to the music and rarely see how any of them look like (unless it's on BB/HDD/ATRL), I guess I'm just a different kind of fan.
