So FSN isn't a continuation of FZ right? Just want to get that cleared up because a lot of things from FZ were just ignored in FSN. Like Saber didn't even care about her wish for the grail in FSN. Also, Gilgamesh and Saber didn't even recognize each other, etc.
Makes me wish FSN focused more or Ilya and that she didn't die. It didn't feel right. She never learned the truth.
I don't know if Heaven's feel will clear any of this up, but I'm ready for it. |
Yea honestly, I don't understand the connection between the different Fate-stays. I considered reading the visual novels but that **** is too confusing for me with all the different paths and whatnot

Come on, it took one chapter for the quincy to transform, with the other it took like 4 chapters to start the real fight

So after watching anime for years, I've realized I don't like a lot of it 
I've always enjoyed anime because episodes are usually really short and they're fun to get invested in for the plot. But a lot of anime tropes KILL me, I just can't. The idiot male protaganist that slowly progresses to OP power levels seasons later. The constant reinforcement of misogyny and sexism. The way that so many anime's have these awful slice of life episodes interspersed into actually interesting plot. All the humor that is so clearly garbage.
I realized all of this watching Reborn. I read the manga forever ago and loved it so I decided to watch the anime. I'm on episode 35 and I swear I've skipped at least 15-20 episodes cause lord have mercy I felt like I was atrophying

1/ FSN is a continuation of FZ. The thing is it has 3 routes and each one focuses on certain characters/aspects. Saber was focused in Fate route (2006 anime), UBW route focused on Rin and Archer (2014 anime), and last route Heaven's Feel is about Sakura.
2/ You should rewatch UBW because Gilgamesh and Saber did recognize each other.

Hi ATRLers I'm taking Japanese in high school and I'll have it after winter break, so I was thinking of watching some anime in the meantime so I could be exposed to the language during break. Any suggestions? I'm a huge fan of the manga Yotsubato.

This, you just have to ignore it sometimes or find the right anime. I am extremely annoyed by the sexism in anime. What animes have you watched? Some animes that aren't don't have these tropes would be something like Moribito which is great! Psycho Pass is great too, one of my faves

But you're only on episode 35, episode 70 is where EVERYTHING JUST ***** ON YOU!! finish it!!

Try Azumanga and Nichijou (both are comedy like Yotsuba).

I usually just ignore it, yea. But I'm always tempted to destroy my laptop and quit when it gets too stupid 
Psycho Pass was great. I agree, there are definitely exceptions.

I'm def gonna finish it, I really liked the underlying plot. It's just all this other nonsense is slowly killing me so I skip it. like WHY would i ever care about devoting 21 minutes of life to watch poorly drawn cartoons learn how to swim while making cutesy unfunny jokes about...I don't even know what they're talking about honestly. I know I'm probably offending someone because they wouldn't include these episodes if NO ONE liked them, but 420yoloswag

Thats when I usually get burnt out by animes  Do you have my anime list? I would like to recommend some animes to you, but not sure what you have seen!

I'd recommend you watch the boring episodes too tho  , b/c the thing that makes Reborn so loveable is sitting through the entirety of boring ass episodes, seeing their peaceful lives & their safe homes and then when all **** is thrown @ them, seeing how they've grown, what they used to be and what they've become. It honestly makes the episodes seem more special & put more value into the characters. When I tell you how sad I was when I finished the last episode

I've only been watching anime for a few years but I have to I agree with you. It's predominantly the shounen genre, so many of them use the same tropes and begin to blur together. I've become slightly more cynical, since I've watched enough to begin to recognise the stereotypes.
