You're attempting, but failing. As swissman pointed out, Beyoncé obviously isn't an actress by profession, as she is a musician/entertainer, but she took it on later in life and has become an actress. Paris Hilton on the other hand couldn't become an actress even with acting classes. She doesn't have the talent and work ethic (not saying she isn't a hard worker. She's a killer business woman).

Why are people saying she shouldn't take acting classes? If she loves film and wants to get better at acting I don't see what the big deal is. I think her acting was horrible in Obsessed, but it was decent in Dreamgirls, and, in my opinion, great in Cadillac Records. Bey has already mastered the idea of becoming someone else, she does that all the time on stage, she just needs to work on certain skills and she could do great things.

Academy nominates an actress (good or bad one) for her extraordinary play in a specific ROLE or PERFORMANCE. Even a name of the award is "Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in ....". An Oscar doesnt determinate or specifies is actor/actress good or bad. It determinates that they were amazing in that specific performance or role in a movie.

By your logic even Abigail Breslin is a potentional oscar worthy actress just cuz she got a nomination
