TV shows and movies film scenes all the time that get scrapped. For example, they had a whole day filming different scenes of promos at the beginning of filming the series, and they were pretty much all scrapped (except the millisecond in the trailer of Chanel throwing gum over the balcony and hitting Grace below).
They also supposedly filmed alternate takes of most of the murder scenes with the victim playing the other side. If they used the same sets on the same days, it wouldn't have been hard at all.
Keyword. scenes. We're not talking an alternate scene here or there. We're talking an alternate episode. Forty minutes of alternate and completely unused footage that was never, ever going to be used under any circumstance and only existed to fake people out. Fox would never go for that.

Possibly, but they probably left potential hints in there for whoever it could be. People were saying they thought #3 was the bathtub baby since she was in the tub in the titles.
Can we also appreciate Emma Roberts' AMAZING performance as Chanel Oberlin throughout the entire season? Best performance in the entire show.
I thought she was a little hit or miss (she had some off moments), but considering how much I hated Chanel by the end of the season, clearly she was hitting more marks than missing and the writing was on point. And she was definitely good at making me hate O's guts in the finale.
Best performance was Lea Michele. I can't believe I'm saying this, but she deserves an Emmy nomination for that finale.
I don't think she should have gone to jail or an asylum though. She should have gotten out free - that's appropriate for the nature of her character. Pure, concentrated evil - kind of like lemon juice - but she always finds a way to weasel her way out of things.

Thing is, this girl was stupid evil. She figured she's hot and she's rich, so she can get away with anything and doesn't have to be discreet. This girl wasn't smart, she wasn't a genius manipulator, and she wasn't careful (Hester), she was vapid, shallow, and stupid. In fact, her own personality is the entire reason she got convicted. It would be a bigger logic leap for this girl not to get caught than for her to get caught.
Oberlin gets such a good response from the the GP. Everyone I know (not saying this is the GP Jesus Christ) LOVES how over the top and bratty she is. Everyone has their inner Oberlin.

Lea was fantastic. She was odd, creepy and perfect as Hester. Although, do you guys think Hester's whole awkward/socially inept demeanor was fake? her creepiness, the "mom" stuff, talking about death, etc. There were moments where she appeared a bit more normal...like when she was rallying people up to get Chanel arrested, the sleepover episode, etc.
Obv they ended up not having the budget to film alternates! This is actually more reason as to why Ryan could have been like f*** this let's end this with who already is a psycho. It was planned to be his Glee 2.0 yet it ended up bombing, getting the same reception Glee got when it was about to get canned!

Although, another confusing bit....remember when she was talking to Chad in the graveyard and basically hinting that she would kill Zayday when she became president, so presidency would go to her?

But the thing is, the fact that she for the rest of the show COULD get away with anything - and, let's be real, should have at the end considering no self-respecting jury irl would change things like that - is exactly what made her different, and what made people love or hate her so much. She's everything people hate - evil with zero accountability or consequences. And it's wonderful.
Even her "punishment" in the end is a cop out from the lethal injection she would have normally gotten after so many murders.

She was so funny. Her being a double agent the entire time. It was so entertaining. WAS because now it's ruined and I can't look at it the same way
It's so flawed how she was the smart one & thought of it the whole time actually applying to college unlike Boone, using her neckbrace as costume because no one cares about the losers, yet she is basically showing death obsessed creepiness in our face! Way for people to not notice you
Pretty much all of the actors did a fantastic job tbh, they all had such distinct characters that they did so well playing.

And for a little while I thought Skyler wasn't acting great, but then I realized that her character was just supposed to be like that....the cheesiness and exaggerated protagonist nature of her was intentional....they even made fun of it frequently, having her usually get shut down immediately or be made fun of. Although it would have perfectly set her up to be the killer, but I digress.

I think she exaggerated it to keep people less interested, but t hat girl obviously had about eight million screws loose. But yeah, Lea was incredible. She managed to be odd, creepy, hilarious, sympathetic (not in the finale, but before hand), villainous, obsessive, and literally so many other things. So much range and complexity and she literally nailed all of it. I'd put her up there with Sully from Harper's Island for best slasher TV characters.
As for Hester having a thing for Chad, I'd say two fold. I think it started as a way to just F*** with Chanel O, but I think she had some genuine interest. For all his flaws (and he has a hell of a lot), Chad was never actively malicious like the Chanels, in all honesty.
I'm actually really surprised that so many viewers are upset about the finale. This show has been so comedic from the beginning that I wasn't even expecting some elaborate, shocking twist that made lots of sense. But still, the RD reveal seemed so anticlimatic for some reason and it did have some loose ends + the reveal seemed kind of early in the special too.
This was the funniest show I've seen in a long time though, I hope it gets a 2nd season (and that it lives up to this one). Emma's performance as Chanel is everything

If the show was competing in Comedy categories I'm sure she and Lea would get several nods. ıf the show was a bigger hit Billie Lourd and JLC would probably sneak into a category too. Too bad now the only realistic chance at any possible award nomination is Niecy Nash, who was flawless as the Denise Hemphill from Secure Enforcements Solutions
