That's terrible, I'm so sorry. I'm glad you're okay (physically), and I'm sorry about your boyfriend. You might want to consider seeing a counselor for a few sessions. Trauma is no joke.

my company is making me see one tomorrow morning, and they gave me the number of someone to call if I need to tonight. I'll be OK soon, just some of the things this guy said to me about what he would do to me are really scaring me right now

OMG GotSkill.
I'm so glad you weren't physically harmed.
Incidentally, I was just thinking the other night about what my reaction would be if I ever found myself face to face with a gun. I realized that I would honest to God move to a different country that prohibits the ownership of firearms if that ever happened to me. I guess that's one way of dealing with the trauma

OK, sorry, I'm gonna have to sit this round out. The bf got back and apparently my roommate was lying to me which is why I was mad at him. So we're good now. I need to go through my emotions. Let Sam know when he gets here, I'll definitely be back for next round
It's just so weird to think it happened. It felt like I was in a movie except that I was really close to death... I wish the police would let me say more tho

****...Meowster's comments are a million times better than mine. You're getting mine in ~10 minutes, by the way! With GotSkill's recent events (by the way: That's absolutely terrible GS. Wish the best for you! Hopefully the guy who did that gets persecuted.), and Sam's recent events, there's a lot of **** going down with the judging panel today. That makes my comments look even worse tbh. That's why I'm just gonna post them myself.

You always think something like that will never happen to you. I couldn't imagine being in a situation like that.

Hugamari's Comments
Quote:
01. swiftie13 – Clearest Blue
"likes waves" I thought we got over this hurdle, Hor. 2neway, I feel like you utilized past challenges fairly well, and nothing really stands out to me as bad. The thing about this song, though, is it feels like any other normal PH song. I guess I was expecting something more thrilling from a challenge where you're free to do whatever.
02. ughgabriel – Visitor
Halsey, what are you doing playing Platinum Hit? No, but seriously I am not sure how to feel about it. Images seem all over the place and almost disjointed. The whole first verse just left me confused. Also, the knife/life rhyme actually cut me deep, as did the crime/summertime one. I also felt like the chorus could've been stronger.
03. Dylobs – Tainted Youth
You didn't keep your tenses the same in the prechorus. Also, some words felt like they were there for rhymes (the meadows/woes rhyme, for example). It seemed like something we should've been over by the 3rd or 4th round. Some parts also felt clunky to me, like the bridge. In general, this doesn't feel like an entry I should be seeing at this time in the game.
04. UFO – Playboy
The highlight of this song to me was "If you're the end, how do I begin?", it's a really cute line! Anyway, this just felt like another UFO song to me, since your use of imagery is oddly unique to you (ex: I'd only expect to see "river of ice" to come from you) I'm going to be honest, though, and say I wasn't a fan of the way you repeated your words. I'm always saying that, though.
05. Achilles. – This Place I Call Home
Noooooo girl, I don't to drag you because you were talking about how this song actually has to do with irl, but the cliches. That prechorus is serving what Prism would be if it was derk, all kinds of cliches. There's also the chorus ones: "I throw my hands up", "I'm still holding on", "Should I stay or should I go". I hope you get over what ever slump it is you're going through, because I didn't expect something like this from you.
06. Vulnicura – Matutinal
"my palm volunteers to deny your love" serving "I don't need a boyfriend I have my hand" Well the song is about loving yourself, so it might actually be what you meant. It's definitely an interesting approach to a basically free challenge, and you did a fairly good job so way to go.
07. Moonchild – Moonstruck
Well, I can't really knock the meter here (Although just imo "Sing to me your lullaby" would work better for the second line from a technical standpoint) Anyway, the feeling I get from this is that you were stumped this week and you went back to your biggest muse, the moon, for inspiration. Clock me if I'm wrong, but I think you seemed a bit lost without the direction from challenges.
08. Buyonce1814 – Out of Reach
Do you know how many times I've thought about writing about writer's block just because I had nothing else to write about. At least someone actually took the idea and ran with it! I liked the "A picture paints a thousand words/but I can't think of one", it's a nice twist on the old saying and tbh it's true sometimes! (Like during the "inspiration" challenge last season with the pictures) ENOUGH ABOUT ME, I liked your idea this week so good job!
09. MattyTacos – Feels Like Home
Aww how adorable! But this felt like a poem to me. A good poem, mind you! I'll just act like I can't pick up what you're throwing down and assume this actually does have a melody and it's a country song, because that's what it feels like to me. But why does the baby have his sister's smile... This really is a country song!
10. ClarksonSlays – Butterfly Lies
Um where is the "The sea bombarded the sky" and "The clouds submerged the tides" fat? No, but I love that you actually wanted to try something different! The chorus changes were a nice touch I thought, and it gives the song a story. Sad story, though. Hope you get 'em next time, champ.
11. 8thPrince – Dizzying Heights
Bitch what is this, I don't like it...I love it. Whew you really came SWINGING this round, didn't you? Your meter's great, nothing sounds cliched or overused (at least imo), and you had a way of telling a story and I just love it so much.
12. TheCheetahwings – Masquerade
I see you played around with song structure a bit. Always nice to see people try new things! Anyway, you didn't have anything particularly wrong with your song from a technical standpoint or as far as the challenge goes, so way to go.
13. Element – Sylvan Voice
You took quite the different direction than others, at least from a structural standpoint. Shame about that late penalty, though! I am trying to figure out what this song is even about...is it about saving the forest? It sounds like a bunch of beautiful words thrown together.
14. HausofNiko – Bet You Wish
A rap song...intriguing. I was really unsure of this song at first (ESPECIALLY BECAUSE YOU DID (x3) BECAUSE THATS ANNOYING), but some of the lines are pretty cute ("I'm the Krampus to your Christmas" and "I'd be praying too if I were my witness" were among my faves) and you did a different than normal route. I also think this song actually shows how you keep growing as a writer, and I think that's important in this competition.

I did use the moon as inspiration, but I was specifically paying homage to the movie Moonstruck, which starred Cher. I wasn't stumped or lost at all tbh. On the contrary, this may be my personal favorite song so far.

Thank you for the most part haha
It initially started as just a natural descriptive song from the perspective of the animal, but morphed into a social message type deal with deforestation/saving the forest.
