The Grammys don't care about what the "best" of anything is See: the inevitable Adele blowout in 2017.
i always thought the grammys liked to give all of their awards to things that are popular, but not /too/ pop. like, they don't want to give any to katy because pure pop doesn't have a good reputation, but they'll happily give a lot to adele because she's successful, but has "indie cred" or whatever. this isn't always true but i've found it's a pretty consistent pattern
Real talk 4 is lowkey the album that turned me against Beyonce. Up until then I'd been a casual fan and enjoyed her work. I liked B'Day and Sasha Fierce. I think it was because she took a drastic turn with her direction, i've never been an R&B fan and the album just seemed too boring for me.
Looking back though, I actually like the album strangely enough and self-titled replaced it as the album that I hate.
Interesting. 4 was... weird for me over the years. It was the moment where I almost drop Bey completely. But then I 180'd and decided to be a stan after seeing RTW BB Live. Also my first bf loved Love On Top and he got me listening to that song a lot
Does it have a bad reputation? It's constantly praised from what I see.
i was scared to even get medication for a long time because i thought it would **** me up or make me some kind of "mindless sheep" or something. then again i was a stupid 15 year old but that still tells me that there's a good amount of push against it
Listen Jessie, I know how it feels right now. He has his reasons for it but it's for the better good.
It may not be out business but when he interacted the way he did with some of us, and it makes us uncomfortable, then it becomes our business too.
I DO remember loving Crazy In Love and Me Myself And I as a child though. I think when I was younger I knew of Beyoncé and casually liked her but it wasn't until If I Were A Boy/Halo that I really paid attention to ha.
