I am aware of her past singles' success. Everyone thought it was going to be different this time around though. I never said this was a flop or anything of that nature, but it's definitely not doing what was expected of it. It humbled her stans, which is a good thing. 
And I do think her popularity is similar to Rihanna's. I don't see RiRi doing so hot, either. But we'll see.

Ok, fair enough, I can't say whether or not it humbled her stans, but as a quasi-stan I expected all of this, in fact, I was unsure if this could even break the top 5. And I realise many expected this to go #1, but I think those people need to remember that (as great as GaGa's music can be) she needs time to build the GaGa brand, so to speak.

Well I agree with all of that. I never expected it to do huge things right off the bat, all I'm saying is her stans were really cocky leading up to it's release... they're kind of quiet all of a sudden.

People just overestimated Lady Gaga and her "hype"...."Bad Romance" is only disappointing to the fans/people who have been overexaggerating her and who were quick to says she was on the same level as bigger veteran acts and was the "new queen".
If anything, this is just more reassurance to those people that she's not quite there yet, even as much as they try to boast about her like she's replacing artists.

How is GaGa supposed to release 5+ albums in a year 
It's possible to have multiple #1 singles in any time span but for albums it never happens. Hence why Britney has 5 spread out over a decade.

GaGa is a radio golden girl like Rihanna or something. Britney's never been that girl. When she gets a #1, it's always because of sales, not because radio spins her songs every 10 minutes. Some of her biggest flops are more memorable than GaGa's #1's.
But anyways! Anyone notice the title of Taylor's song "Jump Then Fall"? How ironic.

Also, remember that there are tons of stations that haven't added the single yet in the US. Paparazzi is still dominating and is about to hit #1 on airplay, so they holding off a little while until they start playing it. Trust me, there are lots of people who haven't even heard it yet.
