I think the 2 little kids in R1 signified how she and her family/friends leaved Barbados to go to the United States. The big tall men signified Rihanna signing her contract and becoming a major pop star, and the maids in the Closet were a reference to how Rihanna has her own stylist/makeup artist now that she's made it big (before stepping in the portal, she's wearing clothes that she picked out herself before she's made it big, but now that she's made it big, she has her own stylists and makeup designer and when she stepped inside the portal, she was wearing a very luxurious dress because she's now a global pop star with a lot of success)

They couldn't copy the files, but they could still make a copy of the album by recording their laptop's audio output, similar to how people rip radio premieres of new songs etc.
You only need an app like QuickTime Player which is pre-installed on every Mac.
