So local US album sales most pop girls are struggling to reach Britney's 1st album sales.
One little tike Pink managed to surpass 14x platinum but hasn't reached the total of Britney's first two album sales

So locally on albums and globally on #1 hits

These major pop artists are not matching or surpassing her.

Gaga is not prettier than Britney. She's also not more talented, the fact that she "writes" her songs does not make them good, ultimately. Right now she's more "successful" than Britney, but her overall career is nowhere near Britney's.

We already said it's not the same for physical singles, in which a limit amount was produced, and most singles didn't even have physical singles. Therefore the overall pool was much smaller and songs naturally had bigger percentages, and there's much more margins of errors that don't exist with albums and digital singles, which don't have the same issues.

Because if Billboard/IFPI/Official Charts/etc says a stream worth $0.000001 shouldn't be worth the same SEA as a stream worth as much as $0.007 then it shouldn't. The whole point as I said is to measure the equivalent of an album revenue.

You get like 1 cent from 1,500 VEVO views, so in no way is 1,500 VEVO views similar to an album sale or 100M views similar to "67K albums" like you embarrassingly tried to say.

I mean to count VEVO views as sales.... how desperate does one get to support some crappy equivalent comparison.

And Billboard/IFPI/Soundscan/etc does have minimum prices. A song selling for 1/10th of a penny wouldn't count for sales on the charts or IFPI lists, which is why VEVO views do not count. Too low of a revenue determined by the sources.

Because we don't know Gwen's WW sales that year, do we? I have a hard time believing it sold 1.42M WW when it sold 1.2M in just digital singles in the U.S. (it also had physical sales in the U.S., too).

"We already said singles don't count so they don't count!!1!" Interesting. You'll discredit single sales because fewer singles were produced in order to push album sales, yet you're perfectly fine when using those album sales figures untouched. The hypocrisy.

Lady Gaga currently has 440k+ 99c albums counting as sales yet you're worried about counting underpriced streams as album sales? Were you not the same user rejoicing that streaming was actually causing the market to grow just earlier this year?

Don't you think Youtube Red is a proactiveve measure to get around that? And btw, Youtube pays on a sliding scale. If you hit a certain number of views or a certain number of followers or a certain number of likes, they pay you more on top of that. Even if they didn't, can you explain how the gap from $.007 streaming to $.000001 streaming somehow accounts for a bigger loss in revenue than the gap from $15.99 for a standard album in 2000 to $9.99.?
