Discounts usually do wonders. It's clear that this big jump is from the discount because it stalled around #20 after the amas.
If a discount is what's going to help Demi get more hits then I'm all for it because I need to start hearing KIngdom Come on the radio!
Confident is going to need more than a discount to become a hit. Remember, sales only had an 18% influence on the Hot 100 this week. It'll need to climb out of the 30s and 40s on Spotify (where it has been for a while) and continue to climb on pop radio (considering it has pretty bad callouts, this might be difficult).
its a double edged sword beause the sales gain is usually very short lived and once it ends the songs plummet and never seem to be able to rebound

I agree. It's a shame it needed a big discounted to go top 10 because Demi does not deserve the snub, but people aren't feeling it that much based on callout scores and Spotify.
Are you surprised or something? MC performed the song on the Macy's Thanksgiving parade (again). It should be top 10 right now with that massive promo.

Confident is already a hit actually, it's reacting well with the discount, it's top 20 on pop radio and its streams have been decent. It's gonna go top 20 this week and I think that's good for an artist like Demi. It's obviously not a smash and it did better than most people expected it to do.
I'm pretty sure most people expected Confident to really well. Even Really Don't Care and Neon Lights went top 10 on pop radio. I though it would do better than Cool For The Summer for sure.

What? The meltdowns in the Confident thread about how this was gonna flop were REAL
It is underperforming on Radio & Spotify and was underperforming digitally pre discount/ama performance. That is all we were saying, no need to get defensive.

Funny how you need to say that when the song is higher than a certain song.
