Mariah's voice is the best, followed by Whitney. I can name at least 20 vocalists better than Adele.

Mariah from a technical standpoint has the best voice. There is nothing she can't do with her voice. However, Whitney was a much better performer and often sustained notes and pushed her voice live which the general public tend to find more impressive. For me, Adele carries so much emotion in her though that I think comes through really well both in her live performances and in the studio - moreso than the other two. Of course Whitney and Mariah are far superior vocalists

The Adele overpraise is getting a bit too much. Adele is not even in the Top15 of the best vocalists. She has a great tone tho, but shes far from being in the Top3. She's not even the best of our generation (Bey is a way better vocalist even if some of you dont like her tone).

Mariah is a musical genius. It's a shame that people think you have to play an instrument to be one. When you can sing virtually every note on the piano why would you need to play it? And actually, she has stated before that she can play and knows chord progressions, etc and if she had to she could write a song on the piano alone, but she prefers the collaborative process of working with someone adept at their instrument. She also produces, in other words she works on the instrumentation in the studio (you don't need to play an instrument to work a studio) and determines how the song w ill sound, and obviously she does the melody. No one else could come up with the vocal runs she does, or the extensive vocal layering. In fact, every co-writer she has worked with has only had positive things to say about her writing talent.

She also wrote AIWFCIY on her casio keyboard when she was five years old. She wrote Hero in ten minutes coming back from the loo.

I should also add that Sia doesn't play any instruments either yet she is heralded as a prolific songwriter. Adele also doesn't play the piano and yet almost all of her songs are piano driven.

I think Mariah's writing credits are the most reliable because she had already written a lot of songs before she was signed that were later included in her debut. I don't see her having written Vision of Love and then struggling to come up with a song like It's Like That

Adele has soul. Her songs have depth.. They leave you sick or guilty. However, she's one dimensional. Never heard her do something like Migrate, It's Like That, Billion Dollar Bill or I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Adele is lucky to cater to every genre, age and culture.. It's very rare.

Mariah's is versatile.. She can kill any genre.. She knows what to do with her voice.. Her low register on 'The Roof' and 'Bliss'.. She has mastered her vocals pretty well and has the best music out of the 3..

Success-wise, Mariah over Whitney though feel free to educate my if i'm wrong, i'd consider them to be almost equally as successful but i'd go with Mariah since Virgin payed so much for her and she had a huge comeback.

Music quality wise, Mariah >>> Adele > Whitney.


Adele will never hold a candle to Mariah or Whitney in terms of vocals. Success wise, she definitely could if her next few eras are big. Celine completes the vocal trinity so she'd be much more fitting than Adele for this thread.
