Katy needs to stay away from Beyoncé's sound as much as possible. Self-titled is probably the most boring album ever released (and one of the most forgotten too).
She might experiment with new sounds, but I think she'll still have some fun songs ala TD and PRISM. But if she reinvents herself, that would be a great change.
The next album will be more Max/Luke bops and the occasional Greg Wells ballad.
