God her negative sales might make it lose the #1 spot. I wish Hotline Bling could take it and not that Sorry trash
The week The Weekend released his album, BB reported a significant drop in track sales for "The Hills." But when the Hot 100 was published, "The Hills" won that week's DG (because the parent album sold so well that week). This was within the last couple of months, and BB has said nothing about a change in the way they count CMA sales toward the Hot 100 since that time. I feel fairly certain "Hello" will not lose points for negative sales like the old BB policy caused Swift to do in 2012 with Never.
@silpiet @gthot20 Did Billboard change the Hot 100 CMA policy right before the release of '25' and say nothing at all about it?
BB will get hammered with a HUGE PR debacle if its changed the Hot 100 CMA policy, without notice on top of that, right before 25 gets released. This will infuriate many BB enthusiasts, which isn't need RIGHT AFTER the introduction of the highly unpopular 25/52 super-recurrency policy. This could cost BB a significant amount of credibility among music industry executives too, not just with us "chart geeks"
