Aretha hasn't had a real hit in 30 years, but her Spotify numbers are really good. I can name a bunch of others.

Even Janet's biggest hits have pretty low streaming numbers. "Rhythm Nation" feels widely known to me, but it only has 1.4 million streams? Was a lot of her music just added recently or something? That's the only explanation I can think of, but even then, her YouTube numbers suck, too.

If you take a look at Aretha's VEVO (granted she's missing Respect), her most viewed older video has only 1M views (#Justice4Think).

Her streams/recurrent sales/recurrent airplay are really like really horrid.

It's unfair. She deserves better. I'm glad Unbreakable atleast debuted #1 and sold past everyone's expectations though.

I'm not defending Janet. Just saying that expectations for her shouldn't be so high when her catalog sales are moot, she's been gone from promo since 2004 and her last real hit was 2001.
