My family started slandering Beyonce today. I knew it would happen. They were talking about her Precious LORD performance at the Grammys and how she lacked emotion (I agreed at first). Then an auntie had the nerve to fix her lips to say TAMIA could sing a gospel song better than Beyonce. Another cousin said her voice was "just alright". An uncle said that her voice wasn't versatile, and that she could only sing pop.
Ugh, being a Bey stan can be so difficult 😩😩 She has shown the world on multiple occasions that she can sing the vast majority of these so-called singers in the industry under the table and most of the world just sees her as another pop star. I don't get the disrespect that is thrown her way 20 years into her career.
I'll just stop venting here. But damnit, I can try to have an open mind about people not liking her music, her style, or the fact that she's mainstream, but people have got to stop denying her talent!
you just gotta have to clock them with the right receipts. Show your family the Deja Vu Jazz Performance or the Sweet Dreams-Dangerously in Love-Sweet Love mashup or her runs in Dangerously in Love. That should be enough to clock them.
That's absolutely madness. I found her 2015 Grammy of precious lord, to be very emotionally charged. That was a very emotive performance with a message. I don't debate with uninformed people.
The thing with Bey is that she can probably sing it all. While there might be people like Adele who might transmit more soul in their comfort zones, there is one big difference: None of them can touch Bey in her forte. When it comes to energetic bops which require attitude, ultra-fast runs, etc., no one can come close to Bey. Not Alicia, not Adele, not Mariah, not Whitney, etc.. None of these could sing Crazy in Love or songs like Freakum Dress like Bey while Bey manages to sing their songs extremely well.
@king_queen: I bet most of your family would argue Alicia has the better voice. Just show them this performance:
Beyoncé has the most versatile voice in the industry today. I can't take anyone who says she can only songs one genre, seriously. Absolutely ridiculous. I would not stan for Bey if she didn't sing with any soul.
I was in bed as it came out at like 5am UK time, woke up at around 6:30 to text after text from fellow twitter stans whose numbers I had, with screenshots from the videos and all caps screaming.
SHOT out of bed, downloaded it without listening to one preview, decided to watch all the videos in order. One minute into the PH video and I am SOBBING ugly with tears and everything trying to keep it together to not wake my fam up. Skipped college, spent all day re-watching and listening and talking about it.
I genuinely believe no artist has made their fans feel the way she made us feel that day, like, it was euphoria
It's ridiculous how people say that Bey sings without emotions, I mean, I got shivers when she did those high-pitch voices at the end of 1+1 on X10. I got teary when I watched Heaven X10 and also I Was Here UN Video.

I tried to pull up her version on Swing Low Sweet Chariot from the Fighting Temptations but the MOMENT I pressed play, everyone started talking over the song. It's like even if you provide receipts, a Bey hater doesn't want to believe that she can hit the same runs and notes with just as much grit, power and emotion as the other girls.
I still can't believe someone had the AUDACITY to compare Tamia to BEYONCE. The ****!?

I tried to explain, they wouldn't let my voice be heard though. Every time I opened my mouth to say a word, 2 or 3 people started overtalking me. Eventually I just decided to shut up.
Thats why I need a song like listen (vocally) to be the first single! Those are people that know: Run the word, Drunk, SL, CIL, Baby boy and irreplaceble.
Plus stop with adel sing with emotion thing. She has a good string tone. That suit her type of production. Put Adel to sing with "emotion" over crazi in love bridge...green light or deja vu...I think the only girl out that can maybee do it is Jessie j and she migh t get out of tone.
Y'all, I need a new Bey album, I need some new bops
I feel you. Why you think im here 7 days a week. In the last couple of the months. To see if she been seen in the studio or the producer that wont make the cut are talking
....
The
"Takeeeee my Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaandddd"
Belt alone was the best belt on live tv in this decade. Joking.
If Hymn and Runnin are anything to go by, then B6 is going to be totally different from ST and a pop masterpiece. I also think Bey is returning more to piano-elements in her songs and a rather raw sound again.

I hope so too. If we're not getting that world-influenced Afrobeat album, I at least want a pop masterpiece. XO was done in by the Christmas Freeze and never recovered, but as her last foray into Pop you could tell it would have been an easy top5.
