Everyone saying Kelly except the 5 random Avril stans
It's so obviously Kelly, like the GP doesn't even recall Avril's existence.

Sis no. The first two sentences show you are the delusional one. Stronger was a moderate success (album) and so was GL. Stronger sold more locally and GL sold more in Asia. But overall Stronger (single) was a much bigger hit, but that doesn't mean it was the only hit.
Mr Know It All was actually a sleeper hit and peaked within the top 5 of the UK singles chart too. The same goes for Heartbeat Song, which ended up going platinum in the US and being top 3 (?) in the UK without any performances.
Yes Kelly has more "eras" as such and that's not a fair comparison, but then y'all compare AL to PBP when it was released 2 years later; and in a MUCH worse time of year (February vs November). That's not a fair comparison either.
Kelly is bigger this decade. That's pretty much fact. However Avril was always the bigger act and still remains far bigger, and far more global, overall.

Mess @ these random Avril stans coming out of the woodwork. Avril hasn't had legitimate success since the later 2000s. Kelly has had several hits this decade.

^ This, /endthread
I can understand the seething these five members posting on here have pent up - only because their fave is less acclaimed, has had only momentary impact on popular culture over a 5 year period in the early 2000s, etc. In 25 years, Kelly - her impact on music via Since U Been Gone, her legacy as the American Idol, her Grammys (she might earn more) will be remembered. I expect more success if she tries again - let's let her have her babies and then see what she wants to do with her career.
To be fair, I could understand Avril stans being insecure about not having any Grammys though she debuted a long time ago; however, she is in good company...for now at least ( I expect Katy to win a Grammy very shortly )...maybe that will make you feel better?

I can't at people saying Kelly .
Avril has sold almost the same amount of records that Kelly, the only difference is that Avril has only released 2 albums and Kelly released 4.
Simple math

Kelly by far.
I haven't seen Avril have any sort of power this decade....not that Kelly was at Gaga level or anything, but she had a #1 smash, a #1 album, a Platinum selling Grammy winning album, several other hit singles, a few big tours, a successful Greatest Hits, and a very successful Christmas album that was selling over 100k for weeks after its release (and charting above other Pop stars' album debut weeks).

Neither. P!nk owns them both with Raise Your Glass, Just Give Me A Reason, The Truth About Love and its Tour and probably the best selling Greatest Hits of a female artist of this decade.

One of Kelly's was a Greatest Hits, and the other was a Christmas record.
It's pretty clear why most people are correctly voting Kelly

Stronger - 1.75M
Wrapped in Red - 1M
Greatest Hits - 1M
PXP - 300k
Total: 4.05M
Avril
Goodbye Lullaby - 1.65M
Avril Lavgine - 700k
Total: 2.35M
Kelly
Stronger - 6M
Mr. Know it All - 2M
Catch My Breath: 2M
Total: 10M
Avril
What the Hell - 5M
Smile - 1.3M
Wish You Were Here - 1.1M
Alice - 1.4M
HTNGU - 1.7M
Hello Kitty, Rock n Roll, Let Me Go - 400K
Total: 10.9M
Avril's total; 13.25 M records.
Kelly: 14 M records.
That's Avril with two albums, Kelly with 4. Avril has greater impact WW scale when she releases. Plus Avril has 6 vevo certified videos, and her tour dates double Kellys amount.
Those receipts don't include her charity single 'Fly', which sold WW also - as well as Bad Reputation which was a Top 10 hit in Japan this decade, as well as her soundtrack single How You Remind Me released in Japan, also a top 40 hit in Japan. So if you want me to fish out those receipts, deflate Kelly's receipts - we know who really had a better WW impact.

You say Kelly's receipts are inflated yet you can't provide ""more accurate"" numbers Her receipts are DEflated if anything. Such a stupid claim.

Not you leaving out several of Kelly's singles Heartbeat Song, Dark Side, and People Like Us all sold a considerable amount if you're going to include all the single sales.
If you want to talk big about someone else's receipts being inflated, don't skew your receipts to appear biased.

I love Kelly though <3

Kelly has toured 4 times, her album sales are better than Avril's, and her single sales are better than Avril's as well.
What kind of lies.

Well I did that to show how much more successful Kelly's singles have been to be fair. But yeah, no contest. Kelly has been more successful this decade. I feel like I'm talking to brick walls in this thread.

No I know why you did it, but I love how they did it too and then included a few lumped together minimal selling singles to try and make Avril look better.
And yeah they clearly aren't using any logic beyond their stan blindness.

Kelly is bigger this decade and overall. The only moment Avril was bigger than her was in 2003 and 2007. Avril had a way bigger peak but also a bigger downfall.

Y'all stop, Close this already DMF opened this because he got mad when I opened P!nk vs Xtina yesterday, it's nothing serious.
And not Kelly stans of all bases saying no recalls Avril. When she had buzz with Hello Kitty only more than Kelly ever did since Stronger. And let's not talk about other countries out of the US
