Madonna's touring power has finally settled out. I think she'll always be able to pull 100-200 million (with a decent amount of shows, 80+) but the days of 300 and 400 million tours are gone for her.
Britney Spears' Vegas Residency Was A Game Changer
While none of the songs she’s launched since taking up in Vegas have become big hits (“Girls” barely cracked the top 40, while another single, “Perfume”, missed it entirely), it’s hard to argue that people didn’t pay attention, or that she’s “done”.
no but Rihanna's was the most acclaimed of the night. How? Has Britney ever done everytime well live?
How did Rihanna's perormance get better reviews and she's so talentless and Beyonce isn't? How did pitchfork call her the most talented black female artist? How did she direct the BBHMM video? How did she sing more than 4 distinct genres from her own discography in one concert?
You know nothing.
Fact is, the only way Beyonce can still get a hit is by being ~silly like Katy Perry while Rihanna keeps racking up these mature hits.
Spears is perhaps not in her “prime”, but she is still recording and releasing music that has a very good chance of performing well sales-wise and on the charts, whereas artists like Elton John or Celine Dion may still create new music, but it’s unlikely that any of their new material will appear on the charts.
