True but even Avril and Gaga huge Western eras, sold only 48k and 59k respectively in their first weeks with 'Avril Lavigne' and 'Artpop' in Japan. Adele will probably sell around 20k first week there, which is not a bad start, considering Japan can usually pick up on albums again later on down the era. In the end, Adele will end up slaying Japan if she can release the right tracks, and all she needs to do is bring the tour there. Tours bring huge gains for albums in Japan.
