He is basically a parody act. People only pay his songs the little attention they deign just to make a meme or joke about it. No one appreciates, cares, or actually buys the music.

It's so painful for them. What they wouldn't give for Pepcé to have hits that are based only on a powerful emotional vocal. The kind of hit that makes someone the voice of a generation, the supreme talent loved by all. Instead her legacy is the Single Ladies dance, the Crazy In Love horns, Jay Z, Blue Ivy, and a bunch of catchphrases.
