Nearly finished this and it's already better than Daredevil

Well... I finished. It was great.

But it does not touch Daredevil. And that's for one reason: Kilgrave.

Everything works except him. Ritter, Nichols, Colter, Moss, and co are all amazing (and so is Tennant, with what he was given) but Kilgrave is just such a lame villain. The writers really wrote themselves into a corner making him so ridiculously powerful. And then to get out of that corner, they made him completely obsessed with Jessica. He literally had no ambitions except Jessica. He came across as a stalker more than a supervillain. I despised him, and not in a fun way. He was just a loser. Wilson Fisk ***** all over Kilgrave and that is the main reason Daredevil is so much better than Jessica Jones.

Another thing I disliked was how circular the storyline was. It seemed like every other episode, they were capturing Kilgrave and then he would escape, ad nauseum. It got very tired after a while. This should have been 10 episodes, not 13. And unlike Daredevil, the first half was better than the second half of the season.

However, overall it was really good, and the first 5-6 eps and the finale were AMAZING. I will definitely be in for S2 since Kilgrave's dead.

Oh and the cop - Simpson - was a MASSIVE flop. Very annoying, and that ridiculous hair... Ugh. Another stalker.

JJ and Trish really carried this. The I-love-you code in the finale really broke/warmed my heart.

RIGHT! I hope we get her turning into Hellcat in season 2! I lowkey hope we get the story line where her mother sells her soul to the devil and she marries the devils son! That would be lit.

I think Trish will be in Iron Fist. Her character in the comics has connections to the world Iron Fist is from. Plus her character is a Defender in the comics.

The only thing I ****ing hated was the whole Simpson debacle. The show should've been 10 eps long, as someone said, and with his character removed (or at least the parts when he goes bonkers).
I also liked the climate more when Kilgrave was lurking in the shadows. When he was out in the open the atmosphere of the show did a complete 180, which I didn't like.
Still, best show I've seen this year.

His character was the link to either the next season of Jessica Jones or the Hellcat series with Trish, or even something to be used in the Defenders series. Just how Daredevil set up the whole Black Sky thing for the future.

It is to show the awfulness of your former long-term abusive rapist obsessively stalking you, and few around you really believing you about the extent to which he tormented you, and how part of you wants to kill him but it wouldn't be as right as locking him up for life and stripping his power away from him.
It is the main thing which elevates the show above Oh Yet Another Superhero Show, with A Million More To Come.

It's a set up for next season with IGH. They seem to be setting him up as an antagonist in S2, though likely not the main one. Plus it allowed room for some character growth with Patsy.

Ugh that would mean it won't happen until phase 2 of netflix. I don't think they want to touch anything to do with magic until at least Dr Strange is out.

They had to though.

He's too powerful to keep alive. Also if he was allowed to live then they'd have to do the second season about him to and it'd basically be a rehash of season 2. They had to make way for her character to evolve.
