The label kept pushing it on her when she never wanted it. They wanted Outrageous as the lead single, Britney wanted MATM and later invited Madonna on the track. So yeah, I can see why she'd hate it. Plus I dont see why the label loved it so much, as far as urban bops go, I like The Hook Up and Boom Boom better. Heck, "Outrageous" was even thrown around to be the title of the album.

Outrageous was cute but (I Got That) Boom Boom always screamed "single" to me.
Plus, it would've worked well following Everytime.

I always thought The Hook Up with a Sean Paul remix would've been hot. Plus it would fit 2003's music climate like a glove. But I appreciate her with going against the trends and releasing the pop stuff. Breathe On Me though So deserved to be a single.

It was a single, so singles have priority. She also had less singles back in 2004 to perform, so it was an easy choice. Just because she doesnt care doesnt mean the fans didnt want her to do it. She hasnt done it since then so it was just part of the album promo.

Already planned as a single. And the label most likely wanted her to perform to get people to start being familiar with the song, anticipating its takeoff. I mean I dont get what's the doubt, its a very obvious choice to perform back then.
