I think my highest rated album is Actor or Marry Me and my 11 is on Marry Me. I love my Arrested Development references.

Surprised so many people don't like self-titled. Seems like a lot of people's first entries and her most critically acclaimed. It's not my favorite of hers, but huh.

Hmm I'm liking Actor more than I realize and disliking Marry Me more than I realized. I guess Marry Me is more of a highs + lows while Actor is generally all good. Strange Mercy is still my favorite album though.

Excited for the graphics! Looking good so far. If I don't finish today (yeah probably won't) I will tomorrow! I'll listen to Annie on the train tomorrow.

It's a disgusting album. Killed pretty much all interest I had in her. It was like somebody made a parody St. Vincent album.

I wouldn't say the self-titled was a parody, but after the personal poignancy of Strange Mercy, it just felt rather detached and like a collection of songs about what she as an artist does, not a new evolution of self and exploration of sound. It kind of felt too comfortable and poppy to me, from a woman who seemed to be all about an increasingly greater sense of refined edginess with each era.
