Legends are incomparable to an exact tee but Adele is the voice of this generation as Whitney was of the last generation.

You don't think of xtina's screams, beyonce's close but no cigar emotion void but technically excellent voice, or even Kelly clarkson/Jhud's loud azz vocals...or Pink's smoker's voice with grit and passion and soul.

Adele serves effortless vocals the way Aretha did her time. When she tries, she serves vocal supreme against her peers like a Whitney did.

Whitney did this even though Mariah had more range and celine had more notes she hit.
