She is what she is because she gets smash albums + smash radio hits + smash single sales + smash streams all over the world. The album sales are just a part of all of it!

Of course Sony shipped enough copies. 3.5 million (prediction) includes at least 1-1.5m from digital already so only 2-2.5m are in CDs.
It'll be absolutely hell if those 3.6 million copies are all sold out, because that is when you know we are witnessing the second coming.
