Are you only going with performers? I know Sam Hunt's songs and Mark Ronson's/Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" are worth watching as well. UF is actually up at #63 and light green right now, which is the highest I remember seeing it in several weeks. I hope UF wins all the AMA awards it's nominated for, because there's no doubt based on how massive UF was it deserves those wins.

But "Smoke Break" is hitting #1 on the Country Airplay Charts this week. Wouldn't that affect her decision? I know songs aren't staying at #1 5-6 wks on Country Airplay right now (I miss those days and hope they return soon), but I'd hate to see a good song be dropped by stations so quickly.

It wouldn't really matter. Country radio these days drops songs like a rock after they reach #1.

It was nice seeing Kenny Chesney's "Save It For A Rainy Day" stay at #1 for 3 weeks and stay in the Top 10 4 weeks after, which Zac Brown's "Homegrown" did the same earlier this year too. I'm holding out hope things will change to longer stays at #1 with slower falls soon, and that the stations will finally realize their listeners aren't wanting such a quick turnover on songs. Country radio does a poor job of paying attention to what fans of that format are downloading and streaming, and that's often the same with call out scores. Listeners aren't the ones making the major decisions at Country airplay, and that's sad. It's that way to an extent at all formats, but the disconnect at Country is the worst of the genres.
