This not only do we have 50M more people now than in 2000 but adele against 2000s artists/late 90s artists would be more competitive.
It's easy for Adele because most of the big artists out today lack soul/emotion/universal appeal and the factor that makes people support them so it's easier for Adele to slay these girls.
had she been out in the 90s against Mariah/celine/Whitney/Alanis/Britney
she would have had more competition.
I think she'd be viewed as a great artist but sell below a Jagged little pill or a Mariah album but more than a sheryl crow album.
SHe's needed for this generation but appears there are so many mixed reviews of her album makes me wonder if it will have the longevity...i sure hope it does
