AHS doesn't even try to be one of the most acclaimed TV shows of all time and join shows like The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Mad Men and etc
Ryan's shows can have a great writing (Asylum or first 4 seasons of Nip/Tuck, for example) but then they just become over the top as always.
AHS still has a good reputation and is better than 80% of non-cable TV shows.
Everyone has been praising here Coven when it was airing but it's so much worse than Hotel

No longer will the men of her posse have "Rihanna night" where they take turns grabbing product shoved up her crustacean infested ***** from hopping the border earlier that day. No more surprise late-night molest-ey visits from angry drug cartels claiming her product infected his entire crew with gonorrhea. No more Mexican railroad gynecologists. This is truly huge for her.
