Britney still managed to snag a VMA during the Blackout era

VMA was in preparation of her comeback and glitter had a #2 song if you want to get technical.
That said, sales went up from Glitter to charmbracelet but there were no top 10s on charmbracelet.
The album still went platinum early in it's run.
Britney went from suicide watch, an obituary (WHICH WAS IN POOR TASTE) made by AP in 2008 to notching over 500k debut sales making her the first female to have 4 500k+ debuts. #1 hit, top 3 hit, and all while notching her top selling tour.
Mariah increased album sales, had a few hits (one being the monster hit of the decade), no talk about her tour, she did snag a couple of grammy's but even that was overshadowed by bigger winners.
Couldn't even open the show for the grammy's as she wanted and Madonna (who sold 1/4 of what Mariah sold) was able to power play her out of opening the show.
albumwise- Mariah (her best work)
tourwise -Britney
image rehabilitation - Britney
the bigger fall and rise - Britney
awards - Mariah/Britney ties but Mariah edges her out.
