Regardless of the situation they're still recruiting and growing more and more powerful. If everyone stood back and ignored them do you think they're just going to magically disappear.

Sorry, that fantasy isn't reality. If we ignore them it's basically like an infection, it's going to spread and spread until something catastrophic happens and makes these attacks look miniscule in relation.
It's why when you get an infection you fight it with antibiotics, those antibiotics rid the body of the harmful germs by killing them. Antibiotics also kill good bacteria in your body as well, it's basically the same idea using a metaphor, you can't just sit around and pretend nothing is wrong.
Yes, it's a shame innocent people have to die, but if there weren't psychopaths at the head of these organizations (or these organizations in general) those innocent people wouldn't have had to die because no one would have a reason to retaliate against ISIS.
but it would make sense considering the timing of it all.
