Am I the only one who kinda expects Chanel #3 to "die" in the next episode or 2, but actually just have faked her death like Boone did? It would definitely get people off her case

More proof Chanel #3 is the killer

By now, we've all noticed Grace's hats: the brown checkered one; the toque that makes her look like a homeless person; the dark blue checkered hat; the 1920's newsboy hat; the other blue checkered hat, the 1920's newsboy hat but in gray.
We know that Chanel #3's earmuffs turned out to be relevant to her backstory, and may be important to the plot later on. But what about Grace? We still haven't gotten any explanation as to why she's always wearing these strange hats all the time.
First off, we can rule out fashion. She has tons of nice outfits and she's real pretty, but many hats don't compliment what she's wearing; some even look awful. Why would she have such good taste in clothes but not in hats?
So she's wearing the hats for another reason. She might be developing alopecia, an immune disease in which the person hair from some or all parts of their body, usually the scalp. But if she was covering possible bald spots, surely Chanel would find out and use it against her by now? It's possible she might not have figured it out yet, though she'd probably just need to dig into Grace's medical records to find out.
But now, a new piece of info was dropped by Grace in episode 8: she was telling Pete how she could hear her mother, and she felt that the only way Mama Mulligan could rest is for Grace to become a Kappa and relive her experience for her. While this at first seems like a sweet gesture, what if we're supposed to take this literally?
Which brings me to my main theory: mind-control devices. Implanted in the hats, someone (possibly someone filthy rich enough to afford these devices) is controlling her, luring her away from the killings and the plot by telling her where to look for clues. Maybe this is to protect her from the RD? Or maybe to make sure they can pin the crimes on her later?
We know two characters with money to pull this off: Chanel and #3. The RD is coincidentally picking off people Chanel hates, it can't be Chanel. #3 could be secretly giving Grace directions using a headset hidden in her muffs.
So what do you guys think? Why does Grace wear these hats, and do they have any involvement with the plot?

I always watch it sober the first time (same for all of my shows), but every now & then I rewatch it high & it's always magical. Watching the Chanels' introduction (one of my favorite scenes in the show & TV history alone) high is just

I was rewatching the last episode high last night, and I was trying to see how far in I was into the episode to gauge how long I'd been high but I was only like 10 minutes in cuz I kept replaying the "I may slay liz daw" scene

But this show has amazing replay value. I'm waiting for the season to end so i can binge watch it and get my LIFE.
