I think people have heard the album! That's why their spotify plays are high. That album was leak 3 or 4 weeks before it release. Plus run the world was also a well known song that was leaks before the release too.

Coldplay was going to perform 4 songs at a LA Tidal stream, 2 of them new. Bey is in LA and many assume Hymn For The Weekend to be their next single so we assumed she may perform. They canceled it because of the attacks, tho.

People weren't really here for RTW at the time it was released so it's understandable that the album underperformed. She should've released a lead single more indicative of the sound of the album but we can't be mad because she made a "flop" into an iconic, signature song.

I think the album leaking 3-4 weeks before release really hurt its sales. The download link was all over the internet during that time and i remember reading that it was one of the most pirated albums of the decade. 4 wouldn't have underperformed as much if that didn't happen. The fact it sold 300k+ in the first week, despite the leak, is a great achievement.
