Not sure. Every article said Dimension was unhappy with season one so they could have brought them in to 1. change the whole story without the people who were responsible for the first season involved or 2. they just wanted new showrunners.

The showrunners made Make It Or Break It which is but they did the unauthorized Scream musical which I hear is hilarious and they seem like big horror fans. As much as I liked season one it was a HUGE mess at times and new showrunners could either make or break ( ) season two.

I'll be pissed if Season 2 is an entire different story. I've gotten too attached to Brooke, Audrey and Noah.

And since when did Dimension have relevancy in the tv series? They're not creating the show.

Dimension are the producers for the show. They have a lot of control. Bob Weinstein basically forced Jill not to tie the series in with the film franchise even though her original pilot had references to the original series.

I would be extremely pissed. There are many questions that will probably be answered in season two if they continue the story line like What is Audrey's involvement and who did the original murders in the 90's? If anything, the third season (if we get one) should be a new story.

I really hope they do the way the movies are:

Season 2 they graduate high school
Season 3 they star college
Season 4 (if continued, they'll be adults)

I would be kinda sick of them dragging the characters out for that many seasons. I think season 3 should be a whole new story.

they might start focusing on other things though, i mean they have to spice it up somehow. we will see.

i think the problem with the mask was the licensing, i dont know if they didn't want to pay enough or the owner just didn't want it used for a tv show.

One guy from Scream community said to me that there was the first mask that was very similar to original. They used that mask while shooting the pilot but then they decided to make another one. Those scenes from the pilot with the killer were re-shot. And no, they are not using the original Ghostface not because of licensing problems but because it's so much easier for MTV to cash in on a merchandise of the new mask than paying for rights to use the original mask

Didn't they use the flesh mask when shooting the pilot tho? In the original trailer you can see it clearly.

i like this idea but tbh i can't imagine most of the current characters surviving that long so it would eventually be new characters anyway.

i think they should wrap up the audrey stuff this season and then make season 3 a new story.

unless they are planning to reboot after every season.

but tbh i thought the show and most of the characters were great idk why dimension wouldn't like it, what were they expecting? the slasher genre plot twists and motives have been done to death anyway

They were probably expecting more dark comedy and horror than teen drama that you would find in an episode of Pretty Little Liars or The O.C instead of, you know, Scream.

yeah but even scream had some of those teen movie elements in them, like when sidney's boyfriend got on top of that table and sang for her or all the relationship drama in the 1st 2 films

Yeah Scream movies were more of a dramedy to me than a black comedy lik SQ per se.
