Yeah I don't want to take anything from One direction they are the BSB/Nsync/New kids of their generation.
They make a lot of money based off of products/touring etc. in a brief period of time and they 2 or 3 branch out with solo careers for which 1 usually has success at best.
I just don't get the whole excuse of "taking a break" haven't we seen this story before.
that's code for the group has run it's course but we won't officially break them up in case a decade later the stans live in nostaliga and want to see them on tour.
Essentially what backstreet boys is doing right now on tour.
To even compare them to U2, rolling stones, police (legit legends and not teen artist icons/legends of their time) makes no point because One direction makes more money doesn't mean anything.
As time progresses people make more money or start off with more money.
I full expect the 2020s decade to have a boyband outperform OD tours.
And the difference between past boybands is that they at least had 3 songs that the GP would know.
New kids had at least 3
BSB had almost 10
Nsync had more than 5 maybe not more than 10.
