I think it was fair of him to say. HC, MDNA, and RH all have good points (especially RH which is mostly very good), but they lack something cohesive or that special quality of her albums that can stand the test of time and still seem fresh. Also they all mark albums where Madonna was somewhat behind the trends and hopping on them rather than setting them like she used to. That doesn't make them bad (although HC is), but realistically Confessions was her last "trend-setting" album.
