This was the worst episode besides Devil's Night they tried to accomplish too much in one episode and then wasted precious screen time with excessive sex scenes.

I really do want to like the Countess, but she feels all over the place, and I'm not sure why. I'm not sure if the character is just weak, or if Gaga's acting is a part of it (she goes back and forth between really good and then absolutely abysmal), or if Ryan's writing is just a mess to appeal to Gaga being a new actress or what. There's a lot more of her physical presence, one-liners and enigmatic attitudes rather than actual proper development, and that makes it really hard to like her.

I'm not entirely surprised; I wouldn't imagine Ryan would give Gaga a really complex character when it's her first serious go at acting, but it's still disappointing.

Everything you bring up seems like it's being done purposely.

I feel like were supposed to know as little about The Countess as possible. Her character seems like a slow burn. No one in the show has even referred to her as her real name yet.

We're learning new information about her week by week.

They really did push it with all the sex scenes this episode. I thought this episode was pretty good, but it did feel kind of empty, especially the beginning. It was great as soon as Ramona appeared though. I can actually see where CHANEL is coming from on the Countess's characterization. So far from her debut to now she's been pretty inconsistent as a character. But like Marty said, we've been learning little tidbits about her each episode. I also like that we've been seeing her display more ranges of emotions as well. She's not as stoic as she was in the first few episodes which is a start.

I still believe the entire storyline (minus the 10CK) was changed last minute because she agreed to more episodes.

I'm having problems with Tristan and Liz just popping up as a couple as a way for Liz to turn on The Countess (which he has already done by not telling her that Iris is a Vampire and that they are plotting against her). There was just no reason for it.

I don't know if it's Gaga's acting, Ryan's lazy writing or if it's intentional. Her flashbacks scenes slays, that's where her acting shines but then she's back to being stiff and non-emotive in The Countess present day delivery. So, I don't know if that's intentional and we'll see why there's such a disconect later as the plot continues and we learn more about The Countess or it's just Gaga / Ryan's fault.

That would make sense. It'd be a lot easier to fit in a certain amount of info about her into 8 episodes but now that that's expanded into 13 instead of totally redoing her arc, Ryan stretched it to cover an additional 5 episodes. I hope that's the case, then.
