Get with the times, sis. Streaming is how most people consume music now, and Spotify is the biggest on-demand streaming platform. And considering I listen to 21 and Hello very often on Spotify and therefore contribute to her earnings, I have the right to express my frustration that she's alienating a market that I'm a part of. And you going on and on about how streaming is wrong and everybody should still buy individual songs/albums doesn't change that.

I don't like Spotifys stance, let the artist decide if they want to put the music for free or not. Either way Spotify is missing huge artists releasing on their format, if more artists start doing it their business model will fall.

In all honesty, I just think Spotify hurts sales more than it halts online piracy. Online piracy is always going to be a thing whether Spotify exists or not.

It just literally makes me cringe when people label artists who withhold their music from streaming "greedy".
It's one thing if you pay for the streaming service, but if you're one of those freeloaders who literally just uses Spotify for free, you're the greedy one!!

Tons of people pay for streaming service on Netflix. They do not hold brand new releases and their catalog of movies is significantly less than Spotify's catalog of music. I don't see an argument against Spotify moving to only paid streaming or an artists decision to withhold putting their work on Spotify until later.

Threads like this are always Y'all are on a site dedicated to discussing pop music, but you don't want to pay for the very thing you spend most of your time consuming and engaging with. Mainstream music and artists exist and continue exist because they can make money from their work. It's not made for free, so it's a bit ridiculous to be so adamant that you can have it for free.

They should accept that offer! It will get them way more paid subscribers in the long run. I'm a paid subscriber and I think we should get exclusives like this. They should also make non-paying subscribers wait a week or something. I really hope they manage to get 25.
