She's never going to experience real trans struggles because she comes from a position of extreme privilege. But that doesn't mean she won't experience any struggles. I personally think she has made some ignorant and stupid comments, but you have to take into account the sort of life and background she is from. People shouldn't expect her to be like, a perfect trans role-model who is expertly versed on trans and LGBT rights and what is/isn't acceptable. It's all a learning experience and a huge adjustment and as long as she continues trying to learn and take steps in the right direction she should be supported.
If anything, it's just a good thing to have more visibility, and I can even see ATRL'ers getting educated from all these threads. Little by little.
Of course, she's going to have some struggles like any transgender individual. I think her success and privilege dilutes ATRLer's views. Bet you if it were someone like Laverne there would be a different tune sung.
