'just another'.... you understand nothing. not all indie artists get praised. ESPECIALLY women, and ESPECIALLY women of color, who have a hard enough time just getting music critics to LISTEN to their stuff.

This is a landmark album for modern music tbh. Impressive is not even the right word, she blew it out of the ****ing ballpark.
Never has the question "When will your fave?" been more literal.
Also, this thread is the biggest kii

She's so talented and genuine about her love for music. Another female that comes to my mind is Kate Bush, she has full control of her albums. Sing, writes and produces by herself (except her first ones i think). Vagina power.

Well, i don't think she did her entire album by herself on her laptop, like Grimes did tho.

I'm not sure, I think they had a few co-producers. It's a very, very good album tho.

Closest? WTF? Why even mention her when she did work with a producer? If she had help she doesn't compare here, just like every single one of the other mainstream pop girls. And while we're at it, there's no difference between working on ten tracks with a single producer, and working with ten producers on one track each. It's literally the same damn thing.

Ooh, yes!
I think this thread is a testimony to how terribly underrated and shunned to the corner are female artists/producers in the industry. We can only change that by supporting girls like Grimes and Julia Holter and remembering the effort and heart they put in their music.

Your "philosophical thought experiments" won't stop this from being one of the most acclaimed albums this year. I'm really sorry you don't like it.
