I've tried countless times to get into it because The Weeknd has like one of the best discography's of all time but it literally goes nowhere still better than any Ed Sheeran song tho.
My sociology professor mentioned some artists today, I think he shaded Bey but didn't mention her by name. He said:
"With some R&B artists you see in the credits like 10 writers but the lyrics are simple, and you wonder how"
He mentioned Gaga too as an example of a commercial artist successful recently and Björk as example of indie artist with lots of fans. And he showed us a video of Klaus Nomi,apparently Gaga cites him as influence:
That's definitely Beyonce shade, and when it comes to Klaus Nomi being an influence for Gaga, I see it. I'm pretty sure Gaga also appreciates Bjork as well even if she's never directly mentioned her as an influence.
