Sam is nice, but his album wore off super fast for me and he's boring... I think ultimately, that's the root of why people might be tired of him. He's not bringing anything new to the table. I would like him to experiment more on the 2nd record and seek inspiration from his collaborations w/ Disclosure and Naughty Boy.
The piano ballads in general are overdone if you're not Adele, who single-handedly pioneered the 2010s revival of that subgenre in pop. Sam had two piano ballads all over radio in a row, and LMD underperformed afterwards because they tried to do it a 3rd time.
Not sure what to say about Omen but again, it was super safe and predictable. It was a wash, rinse, repeat of Latch.
