It's true. When my FTM friend got top surgery, his mom said he was dead to her and she doesn't know how this happened but she wants her daughter back.

They haven't spoken again since.

i went to an "ok" college undergrad and went to Johns Hopkins for grad school

You don't have to go to the top undergrad school if you are planning to for grad school.

They care about the degree and the gpa at the end of the day.
Also, have a plan for internships and things of that nature.

BUT what high school you went to arguably says more about your life and where it's headed.

Case in point: Gaga and her mediocre talent would have never gotten anywhere without her parent's money, evidenced by the fact that she went to a $30k-a-year high school.
