It did sound ahead of its time, I have to admit that. Probably one of the best pop albums of its year, too.

It wasn't particularly influental, though. It just received more attention because of Britney's private life at that time. Also, I doubt she had much to do with the making of the album.

And I was far from a fan of the album at the time it was released (the tragic video of Gimme More put me off). I only learn to appreciate the record more recently.

The album is definitely overrated, it's filled with fillers and probably has just like 3 or 4 good songs on it..

I love Britney, but this album isn't her best.
