Kind of don't know what the hint is for so let's just say that if Femme Fatale was released in 2010, it would definitely be in this rate and definitely would outlive all of Brothers
"Soft as Chalk" opens disc three of Have One on Me and finds Joanna abandoning her harp in favour of a jaunty piano. On the track, Joanna reflects that she used to "talk as soft as chalk til morning came" with her lover but now she has "all the time in the world" without him.
Best bit: The (f)lawlessness parts. Best lyrics: "When darlin, all the mourning doves were howling us
A song of love's oh godawful lawlessness
"Gorgeous" is the second song on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Kanye's second song eliminated from the countdown. It's probably the most rock-driven song on the album, sampling the melody from The Turtles' hit "You Showed Me" The song is ironically named "Gorgeous" as it was in fact written about the ugly nature of racism in America. The song features both Raekwon and Kid Cudi, who Kanye apparently called his favourite artist.
Best bit: The riff Best lyrics: "Is hip hop just a euphemism for a new religion? / The soul music of the slaves that the youth is missing"
"Month of May" was released along with the title track as the lead single from The Suburbs. Shockingly, it was released on June 1. The song is dedicated to any Canadian sistren here, lyrically it's about the beginning of Spring after the long winter in Montreal and "the song tries to capture that pent up feeling and excitement about wanting to go outside again."
Best bit: First they built the road, then they built the town! Best lyrics: "The month of May, it’s a violent thing / In the city, their hearts start to sing"
