"Unknown Brother" is a beautiful elegy to Dan Auerbach's brother-in-law who he never had a chance to meet: "is about my brother-in-law who died of cancer when he was in high school. I’m not sure there could be another tone when making a song about mourning a young life being taken so soon."
Best bit: The guitar riff and the sleigh bells Best lyrics: And when the skies are blue / Big brother /They are blue for you'
The only tracks which would've survived a negative score are the title-track, Boyfriend and barely Our Deal. Happy and Honey would've been easy 0s to give away
After more than 20 eliminations, Kanye finally loses his first song. And it wasn't even his lowest placing song for most of the voting, sorry Ewan!
Much like other songs on the album, the song is based around a sample, in this case it's Aphex Twin's "Avril 14th".After an intro from John Legend, Kanye raps his verses in a very melodic way, full of hurt and contempt. The songs lyrics are pretty obvious for Kanye, so many have speculated the song is directed at fame rather than Amber Rose. Never one to be predictable, Kanye ends the song with a skit delivered by Chris Rock, in which he asks his new girlfriend several ...explicit questions to which she replies with "Yeezy taught me." Iconic.
Best bit: Yeezy taught me! Best lyrics: "On a bathroom wall I wrote: "I'd rather argue with you than be with someone else""
