She toned down the pop imagery for her traditional release, it's not hard to understand just like how Gaga went from ARTPOP outfits/imagery to Cheek to Cheek's except Gaga won a grammy, will see if Katy's copying will work with the grammys or not.

She toned her pop imagery because she's releasing traditional music just like how Gaga did last year.

Adele's music is traditional. Get yourself educated sweetie. Her music is mostly composed of soul elements but with a more pop sound than say Amy Winehouse.

And Fad still toned down her imagery for a toned down era because her costumes stopped working. Katy is on a musical break attending public events. Talk about comparing apples and oranges.
