After last week and episode 3, I was expecting the worst because I personally thought Devils Night was uneventful. And 3 just didn't have the same spark episode 1 & 2 had.
But this episode was so good! I want like a whole movie of the Denis/Countess backstory. It was acted brilliantly by both, and they were the stand outs of this episode!
The first half, I was sort of hate watching, I really didn't enjoy the children in the school. Some parts of this season feel like it should be in Scream Queens, and this was one of those moments.
I personally like the serious side of AHS, when it doesn't fall into Horror cliches, and I need more serious moments, like Denis, and I felt it feeding in with Kathy, but then the scene's with the couple were a little annoying, and over the top. It feels like some moments are a little over the top, and you'd think that'd be because Gaga is in the presence, but her scenes are some of the more grounded recently.
and one other thing I wish it wouldn't always turn to murder, or someone being turned, their is literally no good, and all of the feelings Iris/Kathy had, or any sympathy I have for her as a character is thrown out the window when she murders, I wanted to see a bigger struggle. I didn't think the vampire storyline was going to be so prevalent, but it basically is the story at this point.
The mess that could follow with all those kids being
turned
Also it's so obvious at this point that
John is the 10CK, I mean the blackouts kind of explain it, and the dinner party.
But I could be wrong.
I want to see some good, I see light in Sally surprisingly and after this episode The Countess and Denis, although evil I think redemption could be closer than we thought
A really great episode, a much better than 3 and 4. Up there with 1 & 2
I'd say 2 > 3 > 1 maybe even 3 (2nd half) > 2 > 1
More excited now for the next episode than ever!
