"Me Against The Music" had a CD single in the US, remember?
It only moved it 10 positions up and since it was released after airplay started falling it barely outpeaked its airplay peak.
I'm starting to think too that "Toxic" could only have gone top 5 with a CD single. Remember "Yeah!" had like 200 million audience impressions.
And I think you're also forgetting "I Turn To You" went top 3 in the same year.
And CD-single sales in the US are DEAD since 2002. As for my 'daydreaming', I was making my point considering the current size of the selling market, either it is for the digital singles or the physical singles.
