It depends how you define honor. Honor as in a title you can flaunt to show that you are acknowledged by your peers in the industry? Sure. It's an achievement, it can bring positive publicity and success to a performer. I was happy when Beck won, it increased his sales, he'll get a bigger budget for his next album, etc.

But using it as a measure of quality? Are you saying Teenage Dream was one of the Top 5 albums released in 2010?

Grammys aren't that important in the big scheme of things, there are a lot of critically acclaimed artists who make end years lists, have high scores on metacritic,etc yet they don't win a grammy because they are not popular enough.

But in Katy's case, she has been nominated tons of times and she still loses everytime

Basically, my point is that Grammy Awards do not reflect quality. You also have to look at what categories they were won in. Beyonce has 20 Grammys or something but most of them were won in R&B fields against nobodies where the flashiest, most successful performer tends to win all the time.

Led Zeppelin are one of the greatest bands of all time and they only won one random Grammy after about 30 years.

Britney already has a a grammy and that one is enough to fulfill the sole purpose of having a grammy. You are officially a Grammy award winning artist and people always list that as one of your achievements along with sales and certifications etc. That is the only thing Grammys are good for.
